How to use Repair PDF
- Choose the PDF that will not open.
- Press Repair. The file is sent to the document service, which rebuilds its structure.
- Download whatever was recoverable.
Questions
- Will it definitely fix my file?
- No, and that is worth saying plainly. Repair rebuilds the index and object structure, which fixes a truncated download or a corrupted table. If the page content itself is gone, nothing can invent it back.
- Why does this one need a server?
- Rebuilding a broken file needs qpdf, which cannot run in a browser. It is the one route where the file does leave your device — it is converted and deleted immediately, never stored.
- What kinds of damage can it fix?
- The common ones: a truncated download, a broken cross-reference table, a file an application closed badly. It rebuilds the structure around whatever content is still readable.
- What if it cannot be repaired?
- Then the content itself is missing rather than mis-indexed, and no tool can invent it. A file that stops at 40% of its size is 60% gone — download it again from the source.
