Your files and privacy
Are my files uploaded?
Most are not. 50 tools run inside your browser, so the file never leaves your device. A few need our server: Repair PDF, Word to PDF, PowerPoint to PDF, HTML to PDF, PDF to PDF/A, Protect PDF, Unlock PDF. Their pages say Processed on our server, then deleted, and the file is deleted as soon as the result is sent back.
Do you keep a copy of my documents?
No. Browser tools never send them to us, and server tools delete the file straight after processing.
What happens to text I use with the AI tools or Grammar Check?
AI Summarizer and Translate PDF send the text through our server to an AI provider, and we don’t keep a copy. Grammar Check sends your text to LanguageTool, a free grammar service. The quick summary and every other tool keep your text in your browser. Details are in the privacy policy.
Using the tools
I finished, but nothing downloaded.
Results appear under “Your file is ready”. Open the preview to check it, then press Download — nothing is saved to your device until you do.
How big can my files be?
Browser tools take files up to 25 MB on the free plan and 250 MB on Pro and Business. Tools that run on our server take files up to 60 MB.
My PDF is a scan and I can’t select or copy the text.
A scan is a picture of the page. Run it through OCR PDF first to add real text, then use the other tools.
Which browsers work?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on computers and phones. Very large files work best on a computer.
Languages
Can I make PDFs in Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic or Chinese?
Yes. Text to PDF, Excel to PDF, Watermark PDF, Page Numbers, Header & Footer and Edit PDF write any script correctly, including emoji. Text in those scripts is placed as an image, so it can’t be selected in the PDF.
Text copied out of a Bengali or Hindi PDF looks jumbled.
Many PDFs in these scripts store their text in an order that can’t be read back correctly, even though the page looks right. Tools that pull text out of such a PDF show the same jumble. Running the file through OCR PDF usually gives cleaner text.
Limits and plans
What is free?
Every browser tool, with no account and no limit on use. The free plan also includes 3 AI runs a day and 12 server conversions an hour. See pricing for the paid plans.
It says I have used today’s AI runs.
The free plan includes 3 AI runs a day, and they come back after 24 hours. A long document can use one run for every few pages. The quick summary has no limit.
